Our Young People Have a Heart for Missions

$86,000 was raised in offering and $170,000 pledged over the next year for Great Commission Ministries which is $250,000 towards the one year, 1 million dollar goal (Matthew 24:14). Only 600 of the 2000 Alliance churches were represented at 2010 LIFE. Several students stood to acknowledge that they had met Jesus for the first time and many students stood acknowledging their sense of God's call on their lives into ministry. A.B. Simpson was in the house via dramatization singing acapella "All for Jesus"...very moving! Freedom Hall was fully engaged in "flash mob". Check out the video.

Full and Fabulous Friday!

Whoa. . .not enough words for today's Life '10 happenin's!
How proud we are of LCF's students who waited 90 minutes to tour "The Project Experience"-- an interactive experience with the plight of humanity. . .poverty; lack of water; human traficking, etc.
The theme for the day was "faith" and James Grout took us right to the book of James.
The students were challenged to band together this coming year and contribute 1 million dollars to Great Commission Ministries.
The full and fabulous Friday conclude with "Friday Night Live"-- concerts by artists Trace Bundy and Hawk Nelson, demonstrations by phenomenal illusionists, and a hilarious Christian comedian who has been on the Tonight Show.
Sad to think that tomorrow/Saturday is our last full day here at Life '10!

A new creation...now an enemy?

It was a great day. Everyone is having a great time. Francis Chan spoke to us again last night and tied in the creation theme to us being a new creation. He used the illustration of Adam and Eve in the garden. They were created by God and placed in the garden with everything they needed. Yet, an enemy came to seek and destroy what God had created. The craftiness of the enemy distracted Adam and Eve from what they had with the Creator. They exchanged fruit for paradise! How sad. Don't we do that too? We get distracted by life and exchange insignificant things for our relationship with the Father. Francis also used the illustration of a father holding his child. We are His children. We can figuratively hold Him around His neck like a child holds on to their father. What a powerful message to us as we try to fix our eyes, hearts, body, and soul on the One who created us. Because we are a new creation, we now have an enemy that will seek us out to distract us. Stay close to the Father! We had some good sharing last night as we debriefed about the day. Everyone shared! All are ready for a good night's sleep.

Wednesday, July 7

Wow...we arrived safely yesterday in Louisville, KY from Colorado. It is hot and humid. Transportation was smooth with a shuttle waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. The hotel is nice...big rooms and lots of other LIFE teens all over the place. Most of us hit the pool which was great. We thought there would be vendors at the Expo Center for dinner but found there were only snacky types of food. So, we grabbed some popcorn and a drink and made our way into the arena that was alive with great music from Logan Martin and his worship band. Jason Ostrander gave a powerful message about how our lives "Collide" with the world. We grabbed a shuttle back to our hotel and quickly made our way to a restaurant across the street and enjoyed a great late dinner. We all arrived back at our rooms tired but talkative. What a great beginning to our week. Everyone is getting along and we are anticipating what the Lord has for us today.

6:00 a.m. came rather early this morning. But, all were up and ready to catch a shuttle by 7:15. Breakfast was great...eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit, juice, milk, and coffee. The morning began with some powerful worship with Logan Martin, Slam Poetry with Bradley Hathaway, and an awesome message with Francis Chan on the Collision of Creation. Do you ever take for granted that God, the Creator of the universe, placed us on a giant molten cored ball covered mostly with water that spins as it flies around the sun, yet we don't even take the time to realize what holds us here. It is HIS Almighty hand! Have you ever tasted chocolate...and thanked God for how he created our taste buds so that we can enjoy the flavor explode throughout our mouth. Thank you God for breath, life, and who you created us to be for YOU! This afternoon finds us enjoying seminars, the activity center, vendors, and lunch. Some of us chose to return to the hotel to grab a quick nap or dip in the pool so that we can return tonight for some more awe inspiring worship, WORD from God, and time with each other as we "COLLIDE" with creation. We will post some pictures and blog throughout the week. Thank you for supporting us and praying for us as we grow closer to HIM!
